International Bomber Command Orchestra and Choir

I was asked by the IBCC if I would act as their artistic director for the opening ceremony.  As part of this I was required to create an orchestra and choir. For the opening I created the orchestra and borrowed the Horncastle and District Choral Society to sing.  We played a wide range of material including White Cliffs of Dover,  Nightingale Sang, and two new works. A version of Lincolnshire Poacher I commissioned from Robert Steadman a Lincolnshire based composer and a composition for orchestra and choir called Bomber Boys by Jean Carter a Lincolnshire based composer.  We finished the evening with Benjamin Britten's arrangement of God Save the Queen for which we were joined by the Invictus Choir.

The IBBC Orchestra and Choir rehears on the first and third Sundays of the month at the IBCC from 6pm to 8pm.  We currently have around 30 orchestra players and 45 singers.
